Do You Have a Vision You Can Count On?

Sept. 23 (EIRNS)—What image of humanity will guide our future? Is a newborn human individual a blessing, a unique addition to history by their moral and intellectual potential to contribute to an arc of unending progress? Or are human beings inherently evil ravishers of pristine and beautiful nature, competitive consumers vying for their position to devour as much of the pie as possible before someone else does?

The conflict between these two viewpoints can be seen, for example, in contrasting the executive order President Trump signed Tuesday night with the speech by Secretary of State Pompeo on Wednesday.

Trump’s EO points to the universality of human potential: “From the battlefield of Gettysburg to the bus boycott in Montgomery and the Selma-to-Montgomery marches, heroic Americans have valiantly risked their lives to ensure that their children would grow up in a Nation living out its creed, expressed in the Declaration of Independence: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’

“Today, however, many people are pushing a different vision of America that is grounded in hierarchies based on collective social and political identities rather than in the inherent and equal dignity of every person as an individual. This ideology is rooted in the pernicious and false belief that America is an irredeemably racist and sexist country; that some people, simply on account of their race or sex, are oppressors; and that racial and sexual identities are more important than our common status as human beings and Americans.”

But what is the image of mankind adhered to by that supposed Christian, Mike Pompeo, who spoke at the Wisconsin State Assembly to deliver the message that “The Chinese are coming”? They are trying to “infiltrate” the U.S. through local leaders, who arch-fiend Xi Jinping thinks are “the weakest link” to gaining influence: “we’ve seen them at PTA [Parent Teacher Association] meetings!” The Chinese Communist Party even pursues sister-city relationships as “one of the CCP’s three ‘magic weapons.’ ” Local officials must be on their guard against the CCP, should engage with the federal government to screen cooperation with China, and divest pension funds from Chinese corporations. In short, China and the United States cannot be allies, and are locked in an existential war.

Clearly, the full meaning of what Trump referred to as “our common status as human beings” is not self-evident!

Just as a common mission can direct the creative forces of the people of the United States, so too must joint, positive efforts come to dominate international affairs. And this shift must occur before it is too late. Over decades, Lyndon LaRouche and his movement have given the world a vision. An economic outlook to overcome financialization and restore the promotion of science, technology, and the productive powers of labor which powered the initial American System of Alexander Hamilton. A cultural and educational perspective to draw out the creativity inherent in us all through challenging the mind to recreate great discoveries and perform great musical works to train the mind in the process of discovery itself. A political outlook whereby nations of the world can cooperate on shared ventures.

Opposed to this is the British Empire, which seeks hegemony (with the assistance of American might) in a world free of rivals, whose rise must be opposed or, failing that, whose very existence must be threatened. This Empire is running a coup against President Donald Trump. It is central to creating conflict in the world’s biggest flashpoints, as revealed by a trove of documents released by Anonymous that show the British origin of the propaganda supporting the Syrian opposition and promoting overthrow of the Assad government. That Empire sees the greatest of threats in the potential for cooperation between the United States, Russia, China, and India, and is active at creating propaganda to bring tensions to the boiling point.

Defeating this Empire requires concurrent victories on several scales: on a global scale, a summit meeting among the five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council is the indispensable entry-point to unlocking a reconceptualization of international affairs. Not only did President Vladimir Putin of Russia reiterate his call for such a summit during his UN speech, but so did the President of Finland: “Nuclear weapons are becoming a particularly worrying example. With one agreement after the other lapsing, we soon risk losing even the last elements of nuclear arms control … we support the idea of a closer dialogue between the permanent members of the Security Council. And it does not stop at arms control. At the end of the day, the entire UN system cannot function unless the P5 countries are able to work together.”

On a national scale, the various coups and color revolutions being unleashed across the world—emphatically including the United States—must be exposed and defeated. And on a personal scale, a victory over the prevailing culture of complacency or idle complaining is required.

President Duterte of the Philippines expressed the importance of the situation:

“Escalating tensions benefit no one. New flashpoints heighten fears and tend to tear peoples apart.

“When elephants fight, it is the grass that gets trampled flat.

“Given the size and military might of the contenders, we can only imagine and be aghast at the terrible toll on human life and property that shall be inflicted if the ‘word war’ deteriorates into a real war of nuclear weapons and missiles…. If we cannot be friends as yet, then in God’s name, let us not hate each other too much.”

This weekend, the Schiller Institute is hosting a youth-oriented conference, “Youth Conference —The World Has a Choice: Extinction, or Era of LaRouche,” which all are invited to view, that will address the greatest of needed shifts: the exoneration of both Lyndon LaRouche and his ideas, and a developed vision of the world that must be, presented by the young people who will be occupying that world.

If you are a young person, or know young people who would like to participate, please get in touch with your LaRouche movement contact person for a special registration link for live participation in the Zoom discussion.
