Human Reproduction is a Physical Economic Issue of Profound Implications

May 23, 2011 (LPAC)–The strongly Catholic country of the Philippines has been wracked in the recent period by debate over a “reproductive health” bill widely, and correctly, seen as designed to reduce human reproduction in the Philippines so that there are fewer and fewer Filipinos.

Philippines President “NoyNoy” Aquino with liberal, technocratic and U.S. support is in favor of the bill while the Church has mounted a strong, but until now sterile legalistic canon-law-based defense of human life and dignity.

But this weekend, Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz sounded a sharply, different clear note: He said President Aquino’s support for population control programs was an official admission of his administration’s inability to undertake socioeconomic programs to ease poverty. “His government’s simplistic option and blatant decision is lessen [the number of] Filipinos to have a better Philippines.

“Forgotten is the once proud and loud shout {‘Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap’} (If there’s no corruption, there’s no poverty). Now the maxim sounds {‘Kung walang ipapanganak, walang mahirap’} (If no child is born, there’s no poverty),” he said.

Instead of thinking of ways to produce more food and houses for people, the government had subscribed to this idea that “the less people eat, the more food there is; the fewer people are housed, the more houses there are.”

Helga Addresses the Philippines

May 8, 2011 (LPAC)–In an hour-long discussion on the Philippines nationwide weekly radio show hosted by Butch Valdes, head of the Philippines LaRouche Society, on Sunday evening, Helga Zepp LaRouche gave a wide-ranging presentation on the multi-faceted crisis facing civilization and the urgency for all nations, no matter how small, to address the global crisis and its solution through Glass-Steagall legislation. She began by locating the inflation hitting the Philippines as a global ramification of the bankruptcy of the trans-Atlantic banking system and the bailout of the speculators. Helga addressed the real possibility of a collapse of the euro in the short term, and that the inflation and austerity demnanded by the finamcial institutions will hit the poorest in the world most severely. Only the adoption of Glass-Steagall in the U.S. immediately can reverse this process, she said.

The first question to Helga was about the reaction of the population in the West. Helga explained the mass strike process, but said that few leaders are willing to take on the banks — they don’t understand the nature of the Empire, centered in London and Wall Street, which is willing, even anxious, to kill people to preserve their power. She was asked to explain Glass-Steagall, since most Filipinos are not familiar with it. She drew out the difference between normal banking, which serves the people and the economy, and speculative banking, which only seeks high returns, and how Glass-Steagall protected only the legitimate bankers. She compared the takedown of Glass-Steagall and the bailout of speculators in the U.S. to the forced payment of unpayable debts in Germany after the war, creating hyperinflation by creating money for debt repayments, not for production. The U.S. under FDR took on the banks, while Europe took direction from the bankers, creating the horror of fascism.

Asked by PLYM leader Ver how to motivate leaders and youth, Helga pointed to the failure in leadership across the G20. She discussed the binge of natural disasters as a wake up call for all citizens of all nations to recognize that the take-down of science, especially of nuclear power and the space program, was satanic, aimed at genocide on behalf of the Empire. She discussed the collapse of Obama’s support as people see who he really is — a puppet of the Empire.

Helga concluded by calling on Filipinos and people of every nation, no matter how small, to raise the issue of Glass-Steagall vs. the bailout of worthless paper, in every forum on Earth — from the UN General Assembly, to regional associations, to trade and professional asssociations. Make this dialogue the only issue on the table, using the videos on the LPAC website to deepen people’s understanding of the issues. Malaysia and Argentina showed what small nations can do against the power of the Empire, just as Bismarck showed how to reject free trade and build industrial power in Germany. Every country has the right to defend its people.

A transcript will be available in a few days.

Summer Shields Addresses the Philippines

Aug. 22 (LPAC) — Summer Shields, Democratic primary candidate for Congress against Nancy Pelosi, addressed the nation of the Philippines for one hour this Sunday night on the Butch Valdes-hosted Philippines LaRouche Movement show. Speaking from Daily City, California, the center of the extensive Filipino-American population in the San Francisco Bay Area, Summer described the three united campaigns of Rachel Brown in Boston, Kesha Rogers in Houston, and himself, and that Lyn had called on him to take on the major task for his campaign of spearheading the fight to implement NAWAPA by October. He described the 3-D interactive NAWAPA video on the website, as well as his tours of Lawrence Livermore Labs laser fusion facilities, and the Army Corps of Engineers huge geographic model of the Bay Area, explaining how the NAWAPA concept was reinspiring scientists and engineers, who had seen the American dedication to scientific progress stagnate and collapse, to now prepare for the post-Obama era, returning to man’s role of modifying nature for the better.
Summer described the role of California as the historic hub for America’s outreach to Asia, and a key center for FDR’s arsenal of democracy, before the British targetted the state with the rock-drug-sex counterculture. With the focus of world development shifting to the Pacific, his campaign is leading the effort to restore the state’s mission, in the context of the Four Power agreements to rebuild the world economy.
Summer described the growing hatred for Obama, Pelosi and other Congressional traitors, not only by Republicans but by the majority of Democratic citizens, and how our door-to-door, on the street relations with the population is giving focus to the mass strike ferment that is emerging from society in response to the tyranny in Washington.
In response to questions from Butch and Philippines LYM members Ver and Jehan, Summer described “the Nixon treatment” in store for Obama, but added that our primary task is to show the population what the post-Obama era would look like through the inspiration of the NAWAPA program, 40 times bigger than the TVA, and the application of that approach to the world, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. That will drive the removal of Obama from office.
Asked what the Philippines can learn from NAWAPA, Summer said that the Four Power agreements will extend the NAWAPA development process through the Bering Strait tunnel into Asia, as a breakthrough in mankind’s role in transforming the biosphere.

Philippine LaRouche Society Confronts Quackademics on TV Interview

Philippine LaRouche Society Confronts Quackademics on TV Interview

September 12, 2009 (LPAC) — Butch Valdes, head of the Philippine LaRouche Society, was invited to be a guest on a TV talk show on cable network GNN, where he warned that there were no candidates for the 2010 election addressing the global collapse or the mass strike in the U.S., and that the “quackademics” in the Philippine economists stable had better listen to LaRouche.
Valdes spoke extensively about the Bretton Woods system and the difference of a credit and monetary system, questioning the constitutionality of the Central Bank, exposing that it is effectively independent from the elected national government and yet controls its finances.
On the same show were Baby Boomer hosts Harry Tanbuatco and Gil Santos, who, despite their biases against LaRouche, nonetheless were forced by reason to agree with Valdes. Unfortunately,as with many boomer-led discussions, the topic was still (!) the credibility of the LaRouche organization, and how many “economic experts” disagreed with his assessment. Valdes was too polite to tell them to look outside their windows (and maybe jump out of it?), but he did call them Quackademics on the air.
Valdes also discussed the PLS’ three urgent steps that the Philippines must take if it is to survive the coming period (debt moratorium, nuclear-driven economic development, and a new Green Revolution). The rest of the discussion revolved around China, the four-powers agreement, yellow-bellied congressmen, and those who want to run for President.
On the 2010 Presidential election, Valdes said that no candidate was addressing the global economic crisis, the U.S. mass strike, nor the fight against British-led fascism. The British oligarchy is now offering and backing up Senator Noynoy Aquino, son of former President Cory Aquino, who was placed in office by George Shultz after the U.S.-orchestrated coup against Ferdinand Marcos in 1986. Cory, whose death last month served as a rallying cry for her otherwise unimportant son’s transformation into the leading candidate, was responsible for effectively shelving all infrastructure, energy, and agricultural programs initiated by the Marcos regime, at the bidding of her sponsor George Shultz.
Though the current President Gloria Arroyo has effectively done their bidding, the British financial lords are now preparing new blood, abandoning any extra-constitutional effort to keep her in power beyond this term. Noynoy Aquino is running under a similar banner as his mother, that of “moral ascendancy and democracy.” Meantime, Rome continues to burn.
